About Me

Unpacking my upbringing in Sarnia, Ontario, one in which I was immersed in the culture of Chemical Valley, a place in which time can be told relative to an alert siren and where the twinkling lights and flares of nearby refineries become a sublime part of the landscape, means asking tough questions about my hometown. Within my work I seek to take a interdisciplinary approach in navigating the past, present, and future of the petrochemical industry and corporate ownership over the land. As a conceptual artist, my work is grounded in a systematic study of humanity in which I interrogate the intersections of the economic, social, political, and environmental. By employing data visualization through the lens of developments in imaging techniques as well as networked information and communications technologies, I aim to provoke thoughtful inquiry and discussion as a means of communicating and bringing attention to contemporary issues.
